Progress at the Playground: The Plan to Refresh Soupy Island’s Carousel
For more than 130 years, Sanitarium Playground aka. Soupy Island has provided a welcome summer retreat to countless children from Philadelphia and the surrounding communities. The current carousel has been a part of their summer memories since 1941. Don’t miss this presentation on the history of this unique property and carousel (c.1928 Joseph Ferrari with Heyn horses designed for the American market), as well as the plans to preserve this unique and treasured carousel for future generations to enjoy.
